A New Yorker has just set a new record in Guinness: one of the largest collection of video games in the world. You're not ready to dethrone it.
Michael Thomasson lives in New York, and loves video games. He loves it so much that in fact the collection. But Michael is not half as things now has 10607 titles, making it the largest private collection in the world. He dethroned the previous record-holder, who don't have that 8616 games.
Notes that his collection is worth between $ 700 and $ 800 000 but has no plans to sell.
I have games on cartridge, laser disc, VHS or tape.
Thomasson has of course many consoles, like PlayStation or Xbox, but also little gems like the Casio Loopy or the Apple Pippin.
You should also remember that the bastard walked twice to zero ! He sold his first collection in 1989 for the Sega Genesisand a second time to finance his marriage. He bought two games per day on average and spend $ 3000 per year for its collection.
He is also Professor and teaches 2D animation, game design and game history at Canisius College in Buffalo. He plays about three hours a week.
Not always!
