Bon, histoire de faire original, je vais forcément un peu me répéter comme chaque année mais le temps avance si vite. On est la veille du 25 et ce soir, pour la plupart d’entre vous, ça se passera avec vos proches alors on va faire simple.

Comme vous l’avez sans doute déjà remarqué depuis quelques jours, l’actualité est au plus bas. Les fêtes de fin d’année n’y sont pas étrangers et ça risque d’être comme cela en attendant le début du CES 2014 à partir du 6 janvier prochain. Evidemment, comme d’habitude, on sera sur place afin de couvrir l’événement au mieux comme chaque année. Je vous donne ainsi RDV à partir du 2 janvier 2014 où tout devrait commencer à repartir.

Dans tous les cas et encore une fois, je vous remercie de votre soutien depuis tant d’années. Il ne se passe pas une journée sans que je repense au début de l’aventure un certain 31 juillet 2004 et voilà où on en est aujourd’hui. Merci parce que c’est avec vous qu’on a construit cette histoire.

En parlant d’histoire, après une année à fond, on va profiter des fêtes de fin d’année pour nous ressourcer et ainsi lever le pied pour reprendre en douceur à partir du 2 janvier 2014, juste avant le CES 2014.

Evasi0n7 : belle pagaille dans les coulisses du jailbreak d’iOS 7

Depuis que le jailbreak pour iOS 7 a été mis en ligne à la surprise générale un peu avant Noël, la controverse n’a cessé d’enfler. L’équipe de développement du logiciel Evasi0n7 est en effet accusée non seulement d’engranger des sommes faramineuses, mais aussi de favoriser le piratage d’applications.

Mais commençons par le commencement. Suite à l’installation d’Evasi0n7, les utilisateurs chinois ont pu bénéficier non pas de l’habituelle boutique d’apps alternatives Cydia, mais de TaiG. Cette échoppe à la réputation sulfureuse a dès lors commencé à distribuer des applications piratées, ce qui va à l’encontre des principes d’Evad3rs – ces derniers jurent pourtant avoir jeté un oeil sur le catalogue de TaiG, mais visiblement cette vérification a été bâclée.

L’équipe du jailbreak a donc décidé de supprimer l’installation par défaut de TaiG dans Evasi0n – ce qui fut fait avec la version 1.0.1 désormais distribuée. Mais le mal est fait : au mieux accusée de très grande naïveté, Evad3rs a durablement entaché l’image du jailbreak. Ce d’autant que TaiG ne s’est pas privé de réutiliser le code source pour distribuer sa propre version du jailbreak !

Concernant le volet financier, contre toute attente, les membres d’Evad3rs affirment mordicus n’avoir rien touché de TaiG – alors que la somme d’un million de dollars a largement circulé et que ces mêmes Evad3rs avaient précédemment déclaré avoir bel et bien reçu une somme d’argent. Il est possible que TaiG ait finalement refusé de payer le jailbreak initial; dans tous les cas, la confusion est totale et ne participe pas de la confiance nécessaire que doivent entretenir Evad3rs avec la communauté des utilisateurs du jailbreak.

Quoi qu’il en soit, Evad3rs affirment (mais comment les croire désormais après tant de contradictions et de demi-vérités ?) que TaiG n’espionne pas les utilisateurs d’Evasi0n à leur insu. Pour ce qui concerne les utilisateurs hors Chine, c’est la traditionnelle boutique Cydia qui s’installe, et qui pour l’occasion a été mise à jour avec une interface destinée à iOS 7.
